Last weekend

Time to say goodbye. To friends…

To the lovely, hard working Aircrete team…

To Ousman, the nurse of Kartong’s health centre, who we kept consulting for our various infections…

To our extended family in Obama’s compound

To our neighbours…

To Tommy…

We, especially Oskar, will miss her dearly and very much hope to see her again when we next come for a visit. She has been making her way to the hearts of the Sandele team, or at least most of them, and is allowed to stay on the premises. One of the Foundation’s board members, who visits Sandele every weekend and loves cats, promised to provide food so that the crew can feed her. And Dan has seen her eating a frog, so we think she will be all right.

And finally to our beloved Obama at the airport…

In-between saying our many goodbyes we went uptown to get tested and pick up the (luckily) negative results the next day. Our flight leaves on Monday evening, with a bit of luck we will be back in Europe very soon.

Goodbye Gambia, you beautiful country with your beautiful people. Thank you for the amazing time we have had, six months full of unforgettable moments, precious experiences, joy and happiness. Also difficult times, but every moment so very worth it. You will be in our hearts for a long time and we are already looking forward to come back.
